Aberrant Drain Appears in Brooklyn September 19th

Walking down a Brooklyn sidewalk, the view ahead suddenly pulls into itself, twisting the horizon in an urban mirage. “Aberrant Drain” by Kathryne Hall debuts in The Case of the Curious Pedestrian, curated by Christina Vassallo, on September 19th in Fort Greene, Brooklyn.

Sketch for Aberrant Drain

“Aberrant Drain” is part of a series of temporary art installations in New York City that subvert common urban elements and the experience of public space. These interventions are designed to provoke as well as entertain, leading the viewer to question the stability and function of the urban environment, consider the mundane as a subject for sculpture, or simply to smile in amusement.

Date and location: September 19th, 2pm-6pm Southeast corner of Myrtle Avenue at Clinton Avenue.

“Aberrant Drain” is sponsored, in part, by the Greater New York Arts Development fund of the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, administered by the Brooklyn Arts Council.
